<p>Nope. There are still quite a few colleges that do not even look at the Writing score. Don't worry about it. They can't expect you to be godly in everything.</p>
<p>Heh the thing is, Writing is one of my strong-suits, I just didn't write a particularly good essay on this one particular topic. =P Ugh the flaws of standardized testing...</p>
<p>Obviously, getting a higher writing score is always desirable, but a 700 is still quite respectable. It wouldn't be a very good idea to retake a 1580/1600 for the sake of a section that doesn't really matter that much...</p>
<p>Like you said, it's standardized. They are going to know that the 700 was only a few questions less than an 800. It's not like the ten question gaps you have between 500 and 600.</p>
<p>Actually, due to most of America's general suckage with grammar, the writing section usually as a pretty generous curve. And don't completely underestimate the writing section. While it's true emphasis is still placed on the CR and Math sections more, colleges will still see that section and you do not want to give them any reason to doubt your score. Dismissing a bad writing score isn't the ideal path to take, especially if you have the option to do better.</p>
