Hey guys. I have already taken the ACT and received a 35, but I am just wondering if you guys think Barron's ACT 36 was really worth the money. I think it had a great English section, but I already pwn at English. The math I thought was harder in the book. Let me know.

…What did telling us you received a 35 accomplish?

That’s an epic waste of money. You don’t/shouldn’t retake a 35. Waste of time as well. Unless you enjoy standardized tests, your time would be better devoted elsewhere in extracurriculars or academia.

There’s not much anyone can do for you At worst, your math score is 30, so at that point just study trig and problem solving. You can get it if you want, but I didn’t find it all that helpful. Maybe try the Barron’s Math II book. That might be useful for those last few math problems on the ACT.

There’s no need to retake a 35 for a 36. If you are compulsive enough to study and then take it again though, I would recommend Barron’s prep book (not their 36 though). I borrowed 36 from a friend and bought the actual book, and found that the actual book was much more comprehensive. 36’s mission statement is to prepare you for the hardest questions on the test, but the larger book does that much better.

I told you that I received a 35 because I thought it was rather helpful. I just wanted to see what others who have taken the ACT think. I’m not retaking it either.
