thoughts (from upperclassmen) on my fall freshmen schedule

so i just went to orientation 101 and my schedule currently is

CHEM 14A
PSYCH 10
ARTS & ARC 10
EDU92F

I'm on the border about going pre-med or not and will decide for sure after this first quarter or after I take linguistics 20.

Any thoughts/opinions on my current schedule and whether or not I should keep or drop edu92f? The class seems beneficial and I figured my course load wasn't as heavy since I'm not taking math til winter quarter so any input?

bumpbumpbump

Should be a relatively easy quarter. AA 10 is so easy to get an A (so many extra credit assignments from what I heard). EDUC 92F is impossible to not get an A in, and you can’t get lower than an A- unless you don’t do any work. Take that as “half a class”.

But for the first quarter, it’s reasonable compared to what other students will take.

Jess, you’re thinking about premed? Dang. What’s educ92f?

My schedule is:
Ethnomusicology 50A
Geog 5
Lesbian&Gay Pop Music
Fiat Lux Seminar on Craigslist and eBay

Has anyone taken these classes/what are your opinions?

Haven’t taken Ethno 50A, but consensus is easy. That Fiat Lux sounds really interesting, most of them filled up before I had a shot. Geog 5 is supposed to be interesting (depends on the professor)

I’ve got Gillespie (sp?) for Geog 5. I wanted to take an econ class to see if I still wanted to stick with my major, but the counselor suggested I take 3 GE’s. Thanks for the input, deuces!

It’s a possibility I might head that route but after this fall, if I don’t form a loving relationship with chemistry then pre-med is not for me. If that’s the case then I’m thinking about switching to linguistics and psychology and purse speech language pathology or law school. I’m pretty much open to anything

Edu92F is a a class 2 unit class designed to help me adjust to college academically and socially so we have a weekly journal and discussions etc. I heard it’s a fun and beneficial class so yeah should be cool.

Your schedule looks cool! Are most of your classes morning or afternoon?

You’re going to have to forgo plans of ‘falling in love’ with chemistry - pre-med is a longer process than that. At this rate, you’re probably 60/40 on dropping from premed

My classes are mainly morning, some afternoon. I’m a morning person. But I’m thinking about switching out of geography and taking this writing class that might teach the Divine Comedy because I LOVED the Inferno but the counselors told me not to take the writing 2 class first quarter so I have no idea =(
