I am currently a student at what this website would call a 'top college.' However, I am still very restless.

I was a great high school student and a strong college applicant. I had all A's, made Eagle scout, played multiple sports, studied abroad, and had relatively strong (but not amazing) SAT scores.
I have gone to college for a year, now have a 3.79 GPA, and am a member of student council. This summer I interned on the Hill for a congressman.

When I was applying to college, for some reason I didn't go for any 'reach' schools--in fact, I didn't apply to a single Ivy. I regret that.

Now, I really wish I was at Princeton, Stanford, or Harvard. I thought about transferring, but realized that it is insanely difficult to do so, no matter how strong your credentials are (and Pton doesn't even accept transfers). I don't want to put myself through that process just to be rejected.

So I was wondering if it is feasible to simply reapply as a freshman to those schools. Is there a category for student who aren't transferring per se but are enrolled in college?
I have wanted to take a year off anyway, and I feel like since I can afford to do so, it wouldn't be such a bad thing to simply start fresh at a place like Princeton.

You will not get anywhere in life with this mentality. Shouldn’t you be doing exactly as your user name suggests? If this is how you think, you might as well not bother anyway. I don’t think you would make it.

Thanks for the motivation, kid.
All I’m saying is given that I already go to an elite school, it wouldn’t be worth killing myself.
I was just throwing ideas around.
Btw, the second sentence you wrote is nonsensical.

If it isn’t an ivy, it isn’t considered elite. If you just wanted to “throw ideas around,” you wouldn’t have taken the time to post this. And if you are in what you think is an “elite school” then you got lucky, didn’t you? Either the admissions officer was in a good mood when he read your application, or you are black or hispanic.

This aforementioned post is perhaps the most idiotic post I have come across in these forums.
It is a simple logical fallacy and racially discriminating.

I hope this user gets banned.

The problem with CC is its foundation as a forum-based resource.
We have misinformed posters like this who spread this nonsense, which results in a common myth started from a grassroots movement fashion.

Oh aren’t you sophisticated Mistah Pennyworth? Indeed, I do quite say so myself. My dear friend, do pass the scones as we reminisce upon our day on the golf green. Oh my, excuse me for a moment, it seems I have gotten a message on the BlackBerry that I have indeed received a gross sum of one point five million dollars. This is quite the occasion to celebrate my dear friend! You should invite your granddaughter, I hear she is quite the creature of partying! GASP ALAS, my days are to an end, I am having an attack of the heart! What will happen to my… money… 1.5 million… I entitle my fortune of 5 billion to… [TO BE CONTINUED]

Anyway, judging by your user name, I would say you are black, correct?

^This racist attitude and bringing up sexual puns will serve you a permanent ban from moderators.

No, I am not Black. I am tired of you attacking African Americans and Asian Americans.
Stop flaming please and maintain courtesy at all times, as it is stated in TOS.
