Hey guys. The first open house is tomorrow. Let us know how it went =] I'm particulary interested in how the dining went (breakfast and lunch). Did you get to eat and talk to a current tufts student? Were there enough students to go around at each table (there are probably going to be a lot of families and prospies)?

Stuff like how did the info sessions go, etc.

I'm not sure if I can go on the 24th or 25th. Those of you who are going tomorrow please leave your feedback, thanks.

Or even those who went last year.

Well I attended the telescope program the other day which included the open house, and let me tell you, I had the time of my life. It was so awesome that I miss tufts already and I honestly can't wait another 4 months! I guess I'll tell you how my stay went:

April 17th - I arrive, meet my host, checked out the place I was going to sleep in for two nights (it was at a cultural house which was really cool.) Took an impromptu tour with a friend of my host and with other pre-frosh that were going to sleep in the same room with me...chilled at another random house, talked with current students, and ate dinner (which was amazing!) Dewick hall has awesome food. Then I watched the Super Show which was a compilation of different organizations' performances. VERY impressive.

April 18 - Open House! i was very excited to meet a lot of other future students :D Waking up at 7am wasn't very pleasant, but oh well. There was an opening ceremony where the president, dean of admissions, and two students spoke. Then I attended 2 classes - one was about how the brain is like a biological computer (which was pretty boring and I also didn't like how every time the professor asked a question the parents answered...)...but the second class I attended, which was about the brain and bilinguals, was AWESOME. I then walked around with my new friends, had a dorm tour (Miller Hall was VERY nice and cozy), At around 12:30 I had lunch at Dewick again (awesome food once again :D ), then I attended an excollege panel discussion thing, which was really interesting. afterward, we just sat on the president's lawn and walked around until about 5, which was when we had the cultural reception--a showcase of the different cultural orgs at tufts. Then we went to Boston (SOOOOOO much fun!) and after that I went to two parties. I didn't sleep til 2am!

April 19th - We had brunch with current tufts students. I learned a LOT about different majors, and what it was really like in classes, with professors, etc. Saying goodbye to everyone was tough...I had such an awesome time there that I knew I was going to miss the place when I left.

To sum up - April Open house was ok, but not enough to have the complete Tufts experience. I'd suggest staying overnight (idk if you still can though). And try to take a class that doesn't have too many parents in it lol.
