Thoughts on double majoring?

i'm currently a junior, european studies major.

As it turns out, if things happen as expected, I will need 5 upper div and 3 lower div courses to double in history.

if i take minimum 3 course/12 unit loads the rest of junior and senior year, i will be 'on time' with no minor. should i take 4 courses/16 unit loads, i'll be one quarter early. However, that will still put me a MINIMUM of one quarter late, plus it'll make my life here that much more difficult.

is it worth it to go through the extra pain of another major if they are both generic liberal-arts majors?

If you’re interested in the history courses you’d have to take (and really, needing 8 more classes isn’t being “close” to a double major, so don’t feel like your blowing off an easy opportunity to pick up something else), than go for it. Would you have to write a thesis for either one?

Side note…I don’t think the history major with the euro studies will make you any more or less marketable, so I don’t think looking at it from that perspective would be terribly useful.
