My son is a first year at Scranton. He loves the students and he is managing as well as can be expected with campus restrictions during the pandemic. The remote learning however has been a nightmare. Each professor uses D2L a bit differently. Reading sources online, watching lecture videos and communicating with profs by email is awful. In a face to face world, content delivered face to face, with D2L as a repository and resource might make sense. Completely remote however, I think it’s not a great solution. It seems there is no standard way each prof uses the program. My son gets a small amount of merit money. I am just thinking the expense for the poor delivery is not worth it. Any thoughts are appreciated!
My son is looking at Scranton. Online learning is a challenge for all students I am sorry to hear about your sons experience. As a parent it is helpful to learn how schools handle online learning and weigh costs against online public options. Stay safe
