BC and providence are tied for 1st on my list. maybe some money from providence can tip me in that direction.

I'm applying to Manhattan because i'm trying to get into the 7-year dental program (if i don't get into it, chances are i won't go there). Same for villanova, but i might sitll go there even if i don't get into the program.

I'm also considering dropping colgate from my list. I really don't know too much about it. what can it offer me in the future?

too many safties? not enough reaches? perfect list?
also, do you think i can get any money from any of these schools?

I'm guessing you're from New Jersey. All of the colleges on your list are just a few hours from New Jersey. It would be good to visit as many as possible, as it's amazing how some places will have an attractive vibe for you and some will just rub you the wrong way. You might also want to take a look at colleges a little out of your comfort zone, such as Wake Forest, Franklin and Marshall, Bucknell, and Colby.

I might also look at Ursinus and University of Delaware, the latter accepts many students out of state and I believe both are strong in the sciences

You've created a great list! You're a strong candidate, and I think the only schools that look at all iffy are Colgate and BC, which have gotten extremely selective over the past several years. I work with someone who has a close friend in the admissions office at Colgate, and we've discussed the fact that it's become quite difficult to be admitted. Since you like BC and Providence better, you may not want to take the trouble to visit Colgate and show clear interest, but I don't see how that could hurt.

Our hs used to be something of a feeder school for Colgate, but I'm not sure you could say that today. Last year, 13 students applied but only 4 were admitted. The average GPA of accepted students was around a 93, and the average SAT of accepted students was a 1370/1600. The lowest accepted SAT was a 1080 - don't know if that was a recruited athlete, legacy, or what. These stats are per Naviance, by the way.

As you know, BC's merit aid is limited to the Presidential Scholars program, which is hugely selective. I believe you'll be admitted there, but merit aid is really, really tough to get.

idk about applying to colgate. i'm really considering taking it off of my list. its just been on my list as kind of a filler, but from what you said, it seems like colgate puts interest high on its list when accepting students. its only on my list because a friend recommended it to me and said it was a good science school, which i believe it is. i just don't really know if i should apply to a school now for the sake of applying. however, if i do apply i'm going RD and the application is free, so i still have time to think it over.

"I'm also considering dropping colgate from my list. I really don't know too much about it. what can it offer me in the future?"

Colgate is, in my view, the most prestigious school on your list. (Although I think a strong argument can be made for B.C. as well.) I'd encourage you to carefully reconsider jettisoning it from your list without some kind of reason. It is a great school, offering a great education, providing lots of future opportunities.
