Thoughts on Kelley?

I am a future freshman of IU this upcoming fall. I originally thought I was going to go down a pre-med track, but I’ve been having second thoughts because I could see myself in the business world too. If I were to switch my major from Biology to some type of business degree (most likely business administration), I would be a direct admit into Kelley because of my GPA and test scores. With that said, how enjoyable would you say Kelley has been? How are the professors? How hard is it to get a good GPA (3.5+)? Any insight is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Premeds need to have enormous concentration. If you are easily distracted by the party scenes during weekend, you will not be a successful premed. Then, you will have to have the passion to go through medical school and residency while watching your Kelley friends enjoying their life. But, if you get through these, you will have a rewarding and secure career.

The average GPA for Kelley students is about 3.3. So, 3.5 would not be too difficult. However, you will need to shoot for 3.8 by the end of your 3rd semester to be in a decent position to apply for various workshops and to build up crushing for lower grades in upper level courses. You do have to endure 5-6 boring courses added in 2012. Use the two following links to select the better professors. In the meantime, make a lot of friends and join a couple of clubs. Challenge yourself and your fellow students. You will most likely enjoy your four years at IU with a few job offers by your senior year.
