Hi, My D has been accepted and we await to hear from the honors program. George Mason is her first choice regardless. Anyone know anything or have any thoughts on the LLC vs. living in a "regular" dorm. Which are the best dorms (regular or LLC) to apply for? and is living in the LLC beneficial in anyway? Any input would be helpful!
Thanks!

My son was in the Honors LLC and it was a great way to have a small community feeling within a large university. If the LLC subjects interest your daughter it can be a good way to get to know students with similar interests. My son was planning on applying to other LLCs as back-ups if he didn’t get into the Honors LLC (you have to apply to a LLC). I believe there are LLCs for leadership, green living, outdoor interests, various majors, etc. But even if you don’t choose a LLC the freshmen are mainly housed in President’s Park, so they get to know a lot of other freshmen that way. Some people apply to LLCs to get into “better” dorms- it seems like the global studies LLC often is housed in one of the nicer newer dorms. But personally I would recommend getting involved in a LLC because you really care about the philosophy and want to meet like-minded people, not just to get into a “better” dorm.
