Hello I submitted my college essay to 12 colleges a few days ago and upon re-reading my essay after i submitted it, I noticed i had made a mistake >_<. Although I sound calm right now, I was a bit of a mess after the realization of my mistake. My mistake was that i wrote the sentence, I asked myself whyI didn't fit in..." Except as you can see I didn't space why and I. Somehow i spaced it in my document but when i copied and pasted it on to the common app website it somehow messed up there? Please tell me if this is a big deal? I was beginning to think colleges will think i am irresponsible and haven't checked over my essay.. while i checked it at least about 10 times on Microsoft word.. :( its just the copying and pasting that sort of messed this whole process up. Thank you.

Not a big deal. Essay readers are accustomed to seeing much worse and letting it slide.

Hi @nervousgirl97. Do not stress over formatting issues. I’ve been there just weeks ago when i realized that my question marks were inverted (they looked like Spanish question marks). I contacted the admissions office and the person said that formatting is not a factor in the college’s decision. If you are really worried, then I suggest you call admissions or email them. Doesn’t hurt to contact them. Wish you the best of luck! :-bd

Thank you to both @wasatchwriter and @gummyjenny !!!
ps… @gummyjenny your story made me laugh haha! I wish you the best too! At least spanish question marks are better than no question marks haha

@nervousgirl97 No problemo. ¡Buena suerte!
