Since it looks like you’re taking the dual enrollment route, I say try to decide on a major and try to sign up for classes that would meet those prerequisites. It saves you money if you stay in state. It looks like you’re taking the well-rounded route with a mix of health and business classes.
One thing that caught my attention, I hope you realize that college algebra is below HS Precalc. If you hate math, I get it, but if you’re school only requires 4 math credits, and you already have them, just take a harder math class, or don’t take one at all and replace it with something else. Try not to waste dual enrollment classes since, surprise surprise - college cost money! If you can get a handful of prerequisites out of the way for free, kudos to you!
College algebra is actually required for a lot of majors so I get it. Not the most rigorous, but smart since you’re going to take some college classes.
@incompletenam The dual enrollment program in ky is you get 2 classes for free senior year. Then 2 classes are discounted. If you add more classes, it’s full price. I want to major in nursing or accounting/computer science double major. I could take A/P, but it’s at the campus and my school is 30 minutes from the college. And I actually like math, but you can only take calculus at the campus. So it would be a 30-minute drive. I really wish I would have taken college algebra this year and theater in the spring as you get 1 class free junior year, and I could have taken physics. Then this year I would have probably taken college trig, but my friend told me that class was the hardest class she’s taken.
@Bobbybob444555 Yeah Im certain college algebra will be a breeze. Is it just Algebra 2?
@CGrammar I’m not sure but I will take it soon. A hs I plan to transfer to requires it prior to entry.
I’m a bit worried on your foreign language classes, you have only taken Spanish 1 and French 1, but colleges like, and sometimes require 3-4 years of the same language.
College algebra is precalculus. Can’t you take calculus (even short calculus or applied calculus of regular high school calculus?) Sounds like a waste to repeat a class.
An issue is lack of foreign language -most colleges want up to high school level 3 (or 4) or up to college level 2 (or 3).
Can you take College French 1+2, College English, and College History?
Then replace financial services, accounting 2, and marketing with calculus (unless your high school doesn’t offer it??) and psychology plus either economics or sociology as these would be useful for your choice of major (it’s context).
If your high school doesn’t offer calculus at all and you can’t take it through dual enrollment, perhaps take statistics?
@MYOS1634 My school doesnt have calculus. We could but there’s nobody to teach it and they want us all to take college algebra for some reason. The college has some class called brief calculus but you can’t take it online. So I would have to drive 30 minutes to the campus for the class then 30 minutes back to my school. There’s another class called College Trig but I heard that is was really difficult and idk if you can take it if you haven’t taken college algebra. We dont have AP psychology, economics or sociology, or Stats. I can’t take College french either. We have psychology and economics online but I cant take it because I can only have 2 college classes. And I need to take English, math, and history. So my college classes are 1. English 101 in the fall then 102 in spring. 2. College algebra in fall then college history in spring. I could change English and take AP lang but our ap lang teacher is lazy and won’t prepare us for the test and AP lang only gives you 3 credits usually. If i got rid of english101/102 I could take College Physics or college chemistry and some other class. If I take AP Lang i will get rid of physics and take physics online probably.
