Thoughts on Spider-Man 3

Since we already have threads about Pokemon Diamond and NBA Playoffs, I don't see why we can't have this thread, since it was a highly anticipated movie.

For me, at first I was hoping for a movie that at least comes close to the quality of Spider-Man 1 and 2. Then I heard from friends that it's not very good, so I abandoned my hopes of watching a good movie, and just wanted to be entertained. Well, I was entertained. The audience kept laughing throughout the movie, mostly at scenes that weren't meant to be humorous. Some of the stuff just came out of nowhere and made no sense at all. The action scenes were pretty good and I enjoyed most of it, but the movie tried to cram a little too much and some of the stuff they threw in was just really ridiculous (emo peter?).

Anyway, thoughts and comments.

"Since we already have threads about Pokemon Diamond and NBA Playoffs, I don't see why we can't have this thread, since it was a highly anticipated movie." Part of it is that no one wants to post in the caf

the relationship parts were pathetic

I really didn't like it that much. It started off really good but for me it went down hill. I never ever want to see Tobey Maguire dance like that ever again.. or ever for that matter.

It was Venom! Venom!

Unfortunately having a 3rd plotline center around saving Mary Jane was just too much for me. And yeah, having Tobey play a cool, emo doode who dances and saunters around really wasn't effective. It was actually humorous instead of macho.

Although movie was slow, I'm more an action/graphics movie guy and on those 2 aspects it really teed off on. Certainly was disappointing but I did not think it was as bad as everyone is saying it is.

It needed to be two movies so badly, it wasn't even funny.

Not only that but they didn't make sense at all. There were just things the characters would never realistically do.

Yeah I think the Venom part was too short. Actually, all three parts needed more development.

well I think a big portion of the blame on the movie's failure goes to Tobey. Tobey refused to sign an extension to have a spiderman 4. Had directors/writers known that there was a guaranteed future installment, the plot would have probably focused around Sandman and a clearer, more focused story line and have a slight intro of Venom (possibly the portion where the meteor falls near Mary and Spidey being at the end instead of the beginning.

I think Tobey will sign a spiderman 4 and that will probably focus around Sandman (having him just go away into the sky as Dust was probably done to keep the door open to use him again) because Tobey's only real notable role has been his role as Spidey.

My biggest criticism is using Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane. Sorry but i think shes pretty freakin ugly.

I totally agree that MJ is really really ugly

EMO (people who have already seen the film will understand).

ionno, i thought the emo peter thing was mildly (though wholly unintentionally) amusing.

lmao that movie was hilarious. Both meant-to-be-funny and not-meant-to-be-funny parts

it was my least favorite of the three.

My friends and I kept laughing at the American flag that randomly popped up out of nowhere. It was just so out of place for what was going on in the movie....

I felt Spiderman 3 was 3 movies rolled into one and neither of the 3 had an actual plotline. Whenever they started to do a plotline, the story either stopped or changed directions in an odd way. Harry forgave him way too quickly. They could have made an entire movie off of that: Peter/Spiderman vs. Harry/Goblin. I feel like they're ignoring a lot of what happened in the comic also. For example, they're making it seem as if Peter Parker dated Mary Jane and only Mary Jane the entire time when in the comic he dated Mary Jane, Gwen Stacy, Felicia Hardy...He's not the huge loser he appears to be in the movies.

haven't seen it yet but everyone says it isn't so good..

plot is so so and has many awkward moments.
CG is awesome.
Acting sucks except for MJ.

"How's the pie?"

"So good."

best scene in the entire film.

harry was awesome; fights were pretty good.

overall it was a lot worse than spidey 2 though; dancing, sandman, emo peter all sucked.
