Thoughts on student life at Georgia Tech

I just visited Georgia Tech yesterday and loved it. I am really interested in going there and pursuing a degree in engineering. The only down side that I keep hearing and reading about is the student life. It seems like everywhere I look, people are talking about how hard Tech is and how there is a lack of free time when you're there. I know college is about getting a good education, but I would also like to enjoy myself during these few years of my life. So does anyone have any input on my thoughts here?

I'm just posting the article, I do not attend GT and my post has no reflection on the student life.

Georgia Tech was my second choice, and would have been where I would be going if I didn't get into Cornell. I did an overnight for accepted students, and had a good time. All the actual students I talked to were enjoying their time at tech and had active social lives. I'm sure as long as you learn to manage your time reasonably well you can still have plenty of free time to do fun stuff there.

Georgia Tech itself is not a huge party school, but rather an academic powerhouse for engineering, better than cornell, cal tech, harvard etc.

As far as social life goes Atlanta is alot of fun, especially buckhead, I loved my time here. Living in a huge city there is always something to do, and plus the girls from emory throw the best parties ever!!
