<p>I'm attending Syracuse University this fall and am very excited. I'm going to be studying at the Whitman School of Management. I know I loved it when i visited and from everything Ive heard, but I'm just curious to see what you CCers generally think about the school :)</p>
<p>haha, honestly the first thing that comes to mind is jewish people. i have three friends going there, and all of them are jewish.</p>
<p>Whitman is a great school, and Syracuse is a fun place to spend four years. You’ll have a great time.</p>
<p>And, contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of SU students are NOT Jewish (if that matters to you).</p>
<p>overrated comes to mind.</p>
<p>Numerous things come to my mind when I think of syracuse university: strong social science, Joe Biden, basketball, big school spirit, and THE COLOR ORANGE!!!

<p>I’ve lived in Syracuse all my life, and a good number of my friends will be going to the University with you.</p>
<p>I personally used to hate the school (I was a Duke fan… everyone else was an SU fan. Enough said.) But now I think it’s gotten a lot better. Nancy Cantor is making the school much nicer and more competitive. (One of the columnists in the local newspaper just did a piece comparing certain Syracuse notables to Wizard of Oz characters. I believe she was Glenda the Good Witch.) </p>
<p>I can totally give you some advice on where to go in Syracuse if you want; just send me a message.</p>
<p>Friends and relatives that attended Syracuse hated the weather.</p>
<p>My brother was a biology major at Syracuse. He had a great undergrad experience there and is now working on his PhD in immunology, doing cancer research at a top school in Maryland. Syracuse is underrated academically, probably because sports overshadow the academics to some extent. Great balance of social and academic. Lots of resources and opportunities. Syracuse has some cool restaurants and cultural events which you will no doubt discover. Campus is beautiful.</p>

<p>I think syracuse has a good balance of sports, social, and academic life which is what most ppl would want at their college/university but the downside to me is the weather i cant get over that lol but I think whitman and newhouse are def. underrated</p>
