Hey everyone, just wanted to know your guy’s opinion or experience that you had with any one of these ap classes, or even perhaps your junior year. I just finished sophomore year and I didn’t take ap classes. Therefore, I am worried about how my junior year will turn out since I’m not use to the workload. I did take some classes to prepare for some of junior classes such as Algebra II and College-Prep Chemistry(Our school doesn’t use honors, college prep is basically the same thing).
Here is my schedule:
Pre Calculus
AP Chemistry
AP Psychology
English 11
AP Microeconomics(1st semester will be Civics)
AP Statistics
Look through the other threads for advice on these. AP Chem is fabled to be hard. AP Psych is said to have a lot of work that isn’t very hard. Ive never taken any of these, but I have learned some from other convos
That is a pretty standard schedule at my kids’ HS. Both of them took 1 AP class 9th & 10th. You will be fine, but be prepared to work. Junior year is notoriously hard. There really is no way to avoid it.
AP Psychology is a fairly simple class. Granted I may be biased as I found Psychology very interesting and taking AP Psych made me decide to major in it. As long as you know all the vocab words and keep up with your readings you should be more than fine. AP Chemistry was difficult. It’s considered one of the harder science APs for a reason. However it is manageable to well you just have to dedicate more time for AP Chem as some of the concepts can be confusing. I didn’t take AP Micro but I did take AP Macro and my teacher said micro/macro share similar concepts micro just goes more into detail. AP Micro should also be fine once you get the hang of all the models and what causes the various shifts. As for AP stats I’ve heard bad things but it was more about the teacher than it was the actual class content, however I didn’t take it and can’t speak on it personally. As long as you manage your time well I think you will do fine in these classes.
