Hello! I plan on going to CMU in the fall and double majoring in Business Administration with a track in Finance & Mathematical Sciences with a target in Operation Research and Statistics. In addition, I plan on minoring in Professional Writing. So, as you can see, I really want to go into the business world someday. However, there are some classes that I could transfer out off b/c of my AP scores and dual-enrollment courses that I took in high school. But, would you suggest that I take those courses as a "bump" to my GPA or just skip them and go to the next level? I've heard that some people who got "5s" on the AP Calc BC exam and skipped to a higher level calc at CMU, struggled with their courses. If I don't transfer out of any classes, do you think that my schedule would fit all the courses required for the double major and minor? But, if I do transfer out, my GPA may suffer, as I wouldn't have the knowledge that the pre-req class covered. Any thoughts?

Oh nooo, skip it! If they give you credits for free, take them! haha especially for you who wants to take on so much.
People could struggle with their classes regardless of placing out or not. I’m talking from experience of placing out of Calc 1 and Calc 2 with AP BC but taking Calc 2 just in case. I thought it was a waste of time because I learned nothing new when instead I could’ve taken a course that I would actually need and used my time doing annoying problem sets on something else…
I don’t think not taking Calc 2 will kill you that badly, as if you really got a 5 on the exam, you probably should know all that’s covered (calc-wise) in related classes.
