thoughts, please? nearing deadline. UW vs. UCSB?

There's several pros and cons for both schools.

University of Washington:
Pro-I believe it's education system's better than UCSB regardless of their equivalent ranking
Pro-There's lots of shops and restaurants right outside the campus and it's a gorgeous city.
Con-I don't like rain or cloudy days and I'm concerned it will affect my mood. =/
Con-It's $40,000 to go there because I'm out of state and I'm not getting financial aid. I'm expected to pay $10,000 yearly and loan the rest.

UCSB:
Pro-I love the beach, the campus, and its location.
Pro-I get $10,000 from Cal Grants, $10,000 in loans, and am expected to pay $10,000 a year so it's much cheaper.
Con-Not too much outside the campus. I'd have to take the bus to go anywhere really
Con-Not as good of a school as UW

Thanks in advance!

oh, and I live in the bay area so I’m around 4 hours away from UCSB which is convenient because I’ll miss my parents a lot and vice versa probably.

As a UCSB grad, I think there was PLENTY to do in Isla Vista. I rarely ventured out into Goleta/Santa Barbara (except for shopping) because there was so much to do in IV. You’ve got tons of restaurants, bars, the beach, movies at IV theatre, house parties, running around the lagoon, UCSB soccer and basketball games, speakers on campus, etc.

UCSB is on par academically with U-Dub. I would go there and have fun! Its a great place.

that’s really weird becuz i remembered visiting isla vista and it was filled with old shops and restaurants. like is it literally the two blocks i’m thinking of with freebirds? because if so… =/
