Hey I'm an international applicant, interested in studying international affairs or marketing.
And here's the thing. I was born in Japan to Japanese parents, but started my education in Australia until the end of grade 9. Then I went on to a Japanese high school located in New York. After that I had a gap year and backpacked across Europe and started uni in Japan. But I quit for various reasons and will apply to American unis.

My question is: as I am intending to apply to US unis for an international affairs (relations/studies) major, will my multicultural background and experiences be considered a "hook"? Or am I not as special as I think? lol

Plus, I do speak fluent Japanese. And by fluent I don't mean just being able to speak the colloquial language, but the formal side too (which is particularly important in the hierarchical Japanese society).

So what do you guys think?
Please feel free to comment :)
