Hello, I have narrowed down my college choices to Kansas State, University of Kansas, Florida International University, University of Missouri, and University of New Mexico. Do any of you know about the quality and prestige of these schools? Which of these would be worth the Out of state tuition? I live in Tennessee and would like to study Law. Any info will be good
I would look carefully at your in-state options, especially with law school down the road.
To study law you need to get good grades, learn to think and write critically, and do well on the LSAT. That can happen anywhere. Why would you pay more for an OOS school to do that?
Univ of Missouri is famous for journalism, but I can’t think of what the other schools on your list are known for. I don’t imagine any of them are better than the Univ of Tenn
Kansas and Mizzou are slightly more prestigious than UT, but frankly it doesn’t make that much of a difference. I would stay in-state and save the money.
I was thinking Kansas State because they have a program called the LEAD program where you can complete a undergrad degree in 3 years at K-State and go to KU to finish law school. The program is 6 years. I didn’t know if I could possibly gain in-state residency in Kansas after going there for a year or two.
