Thoughts?

I wanted to know about some people's thoughts about Yale's pre-med. I know pre-med is NOT a major, but the stuff related to it (chemistry, physics, biology, etc...). I've looked at their departments, and they look especially enticing (I noticed one of Yale's chemistry/biology professors has received the nobel prize, which is always a huge plus on a school's science department). As far as the pre-med "track" goes, is Yale a good option? I imagine any place that has a decent science program would be fine for any pre-med student b/c GPA and MCAT are the two really important factors for med school, and from what I've seen, I'm really liking Yale's science department. I was just wondering what you guys think.

If I don't get into Yale, I still have plenty of options open -- Princeton, MIT, maybe Stanford [haven't decided yet if I want to apply there or not], Duke, Northwestern, Wash Univ. in St. Louis, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame (mid-school), and Michigan (mid-school), plus 2 for sure safeties (Univ. of Rochester and Univ. of Arkansas [home state]) -- so it wouldn't be the end of the world at all if I didn't get into Yale or Princeton or MIT since those are EXTREMELY hard to get into.

Here are a couple of pages that might be of interest to you. There are lots of people taking the premed requirements at Yale. Of course, that's not a major, and Yale students take all kinds of interesting classes, majoring in all sorts of things, while setting themselves up to apply to med school at the end of the trip.
