Thoughts?

I wanted to know about some people's thoughts about Princeton's pre-med. I know pre-med is NOT a major, but I'm referring the stuff related to it (chemistry, physics, biology, etc...). As far as the pre-med "track" goes, is Princeton a good option? I imagine any place that has a decent science program would be fine for any pre-med student b/c GPA and MCAT are the two really important factors for med school. I was just wondering what you guys think.

If I don't get into Princeton, I still have plenty of options open -- Yale, MIT, maybe Stanford [haven't decided yet if I want to apply there or not], Duke, Northwestern, Wash Univ. in St. Louis, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame (mid-school), and Michigan (mid-school), plus 2 for sure safeties (Univ. of Rochester and Univ. of Arkansas [home state]) -- so it wouldn't be the end of the world at all if I didn't get into Yale or Princeton or MIT since those are EXTREMELY hard to get into.

bump

any thoughts?

Hey. I'm still a freshman, but I've seen they have a lot of help along the way for Premeds. They have HPA (Health Professions Advising) and have a lot of speakers such as alumni who are now doctors. Also, the acceptance rate of Princeton students who apply to medical school is 95%, which is much higher than the national average of 50%. Hope that helps and good luck.

95%, wow that's a very nice percentage.. what percentage of people are able to get into their top 3 med schools?
