According to NMSC, those getting the corporate-sponsored scholarships or the one-time $2500 awards from NMSC are supposed to be notified by mail "in March". Anyone that gets such notification, or anyone with updates/questions regarding this, let's share.

According to the timeline provided on 2014 Information guide here (http://www.nationalmerit.org/Merit_R&I_Leaflet.pdf) the corporate-sponsored notifications should start being mailed out today, the $2500 award notifications on March 27, and the college-sponsored notifications on May 1st. Good luck to all!

I received a corporate scholarship letter from National Merit today, in Maryland. It is postmarked March 12th.

@eenumber1: Congratulations! Thanks for the update

We didn’t receive one and we expected one. Any ideas how to check on it?

I called them, and they said they are “working on” the corporate scholarships. Thus that is why some have already received them, and some have not. They said all corporate scholarship recipients should be notified by mail in March. They said those that applied or were eligible for a corporate scholarship but DIDN’T get it would be notified as such in May.

Received one in Chicago on Saturday.

We got ours on 3/17 also. The letter directed you to the website account that you setup after you made semifinalist. A copy of the letter was also posted there, so if you haven’t received a letter yet you can also check your account.

skipole…

does a parent work at a company that awards all employees’ children who make NMF?

I checked with NMSC today regarding special scholarships and she said that they began sending out on March 12th, and that it will continue through April, as they have a lot to get through. Each day at around noon (central??) they will update the signup site with any new ones that have been completed that day. Another test in patience for all.

@Dad22D: Can you clarify what you are referring to when you say “special scholarships”? Are you referring to the corporate scholarships that we are referring to in this thread? Also, what exactly do you mean by “signup site”?

^^^^Yes, the special scholarships are the same as corporate scholarships. Also, signup site is where the student first had to fill out the scholarship application. https://osa.nationalmerit.org/

mom2collegekids: I work for a company that awards employee NMF kids. However no one has ever stated that every NMF kid gets one.

Received one today…so they are still sending out, as they mentioned. Best of luck to all.

Received a Corp sponsored one today! Postmarked March 21.

Received ours today, $2000.

For those that receive one, it would be great if you can tell us the postmark date like some are doing

The one we received was 3/21/2014.

I just checked online and we have one dated yesterday. I’m not complaining, but $2000/$65000 = 3%. Every little bit helps though!

Corporate sponsor for DS came in the mail today (postmarked 21st) $2000 renewable for 4 years = $8000
