sharp, you called the admissions office and they told you over the phone?

No, I called them to ask when the decisions will being made for deferred applicants. They informed me that they were going to need another 2 weeks to finish reviewing all the applications. I checked the status checker at 3:00 and it still said deferred, but when I checked at 5:30 they had updated it to denied.

Bing was my first choice and I am a quite upset that I got flat out rejected. But life goes on. What schools did you get into?

stony brook with presidential scholarship - probably going there
hofstra with 60,000 scholarship
saint johns with 64,000 scholarship
UAlbany
Waistlisted from syracuse
waitlisted from Geneseo but guaranteed Spring Admission (don't understand how they accepted me but Binghamton didn't...

Geneseo and Binghamton are different schools. You can't really compare them like that. College admissions is weird, and it's not like Geneseo is telling Binghamton "Oh yes, we're waitlisting him, so you need not accept him".

I was deferred as an EA applicant at Binghamton.
With a 94 avarage, all AP.s, 1400 SAT, 3 SAT II over 700 and 4 on all AP scores, needless to say I was bummed!

^Wow that's shocking! I'm sure you'll be accepted RD though.

I was defered with a 2200/33 act 90 gpa with 9 aps and good ec's. i have a feeling I was "capped out" and they probobly didnt even look at my app because I submitted it on the last day.

Wow ninab I'm really surprised you were deferred. I got my app in like 10/28 and got in with 3.4UW/2200. When did you send your app in?
