Thread for All International Students ;)

For international applicants, we may go through challenging application process. I really don't know whether a thread like this already exists or not, so I made one. We may discuss about our confusion of taking the SATs, filling the FA form, basically everything in a thread that hopefully can be helpful for others as well :D

The basic one, where are you from, and what part of the application confuses you the most?

Good luck, '15ers! :D

Ι am from Greece and I am applying too for Class '15:D

I am so excited and thrilled!!I wish that everything gonna be ok:DI am worried about the whole application not only a part…

Good luck to all of you!!My best wishes ;)

Why do you call yourself class of 15 ? Are all studies 5 years long ?

I am not calling myself Class '15 but I am applying for this class.Look other topics and you will understand…

well I am not 100% sure yet, but I might be applying for the class of '15 too, since I did not receive any money(well not nearly enough) from the institutions I was accepted.

I’m applying for the class of '15 too. I’m so nervous about the SAT i’ll take in may 1st!
And the whole process of application is so complicated, when compared tho my country (brazil), when we only take one big test and the ones who do best at the test are automatically in the university.
But hey, it’s all worthy if I get in somewhere good! Best wishes for everyone! ;]

omg, lennin, same like my country.
Take national exams and your place at university is guaranteed.

and studying for SAT is KILLING me!

Me too! I’m studying all the time and reading all those books and still feel i’ll have a lousy score…

Where are you from?

SAT exams are quite difficult. The only thing that scares me is the time.75 question(Physics Sublect test) only 1 hour…:frowning: It is a multiple choice though but the time stresses me a lot actually!

Good luck though!:)

@lennin you have to think that you are the appropriate applicant and SAT is something that you can handle.Be positive and everything gonna be ok:)

thanks for the encouraging!
The timing scares me too. SAT’s math is quite easy, but it’s so short of time…

I’ll be applying for class of '15 too! Gosh! It’s annoying that I have to SAT on top of A levels… but I want to apply for universities in america… oh well.

Indonesia, in which SAT is really not that common…
the timing, how to handle it?
so limited, very easy to panic!

which SAT II do you guys plan to take?

As for me I take:

Math Level 1
Math Level 2
Physics
Chemistry
and probably Biology E/M…

Do you guys know if we do a different type of examination such as IB or A levels or something, do we have to still do SAT II subject tests as well as SATs?

The requirements of universities ask 2 or 3 SAT Subject Tests…IB and A levels are some of exams that you can take. But I don’t know exactly…You can send an e-mail to Admission Office of University for more informations.I am sure that they will help you a lot.

Okay. Thanks!

I believe you have to take the SATs, doesn’t matter if you took A-levels or IB. But im not 100% sure, and it may depend on the colleges, so you should check with admission’s office.

As for me i’ll take Math II, Spanish and Literature. Only I didn’t register yet. Do you guys know when registrations open for the second semester (im already taking the SATI at june 5th, so I can only take the II after that)?

I believe it’s up to you will to take the SAT or SAT II first.
The registrations for SAT II depends on you subjects, I think. Usually Math II, Spanish, and Literature are quite often, though. :)

International here.
