thats with uc merced right? (and after 60 units you trasfer to any uc you'd like)

the uc has to accept you into the shared exp. program, you cant apply for it

yeah, I really want to try to transfer after one year but my parents don't like that idea,
They think its too risky, childish and impossible to try to transfer after one year.

people transfer from cc -> uc all the time in one year tho ?

Welcome to logic town. I've tried telling them that. They don't care.

whats ur 2nd choice, cc? i might go to davis, but i view it as just like merced with bigger classes

Either Davis or UCSB: College of Creative Studies.

I don't know if you've been to Merced but its really different from Davis. Davis is a large established university with plenty of campus acticities. Merced is new and rediculously small.

Hey all you appealers both rejects and "in review." My counselor called UCB and found out that they are pretty done looking for Fall appeal slots and are focusing on Spring. It should be noted that they tend to admit a lot more spring appeals than fall appeals.

I always enjoyed the spring weather better :P

I sent in an appeal for admissions to Berkeley and I found out this morning that I was admitted for Spring 2008. I think I'm going to attend, but will Spring admits get housing does anyone know and will it be more difficult to become acclimated to the school as a spring admit?

basis for appeal?

You get the same housing and after a month or two you will probably be fine.

I just wrote about how much I wanted to go there, my awards and success as the Varsity Basketball Captain, and about my uncle who got his phd there and passed away this passed year.
I want to do the Fall Extension program but it's full. I put my name on a waitlist though.

That makes me feel a lot more confident. Before, the only appeal successes were "I forget to mention a disability or they screwed up my SAT."

Yeah, I was surprised I was admitted. But I really don't know what I'm gonna do during the Fall...I need to get out of this town!

I got in through the appeals to fall 2007, i was suprised i got fall 07 since i didnt even write an essay (didnt know we could).

Basis for appeal and stats?

My appeal was denied, but it was a long shot to try and get admitted by exception anyway. Now to choose: UCSB, Columbia or UMich. Three very different options!

o, i am dyslexic so i sent them a 504 and paperwork (~7pgs) for my doctor showing how she came to that conclusion (dyslexia). I also sent a letter of rec from a college professor (my calc II teacher) and a letter from my econ/govt teacher who is a berkeley alum.

UC GPA: 3.8
SAT: M690, CR620, W630 (kinda low for a berkeley admit, but i didnt prove i was duslexic in enough time to get the xtra time on the sat)
SATII: Phys 710 Chem 750 MathIIc 730
1 AP: Physics B
College Classes: Physics I (=cal's phys 7a), calc I, calc II, calcIII, Differential Equations, Ceramics I, Modern Western Civilization
No research or science fair-like events

Damn, rejected again. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Congrats mathtastic_nerd! I'm not dyslexic but I do have a learning disability, and the paperwork really helped. I'm Fall 2007 too. See ya at dsp!
