***Thread For BS/MD/DO 2023-2024 Applicants/Parents ***

Because applicants’ parents tend to DM with details rather than discussing their situations in this main forum. They do read what people who have come before them and parents-turn-consultants say and ask generic questions regarding programs, but personal details would be done via DMs.

This wasn’t a guaranteed program right ?

Not only was it (UCF) not a guaranteed program but 40% + people in the program did not make it. Basically almost everyone who applied to the program got in.

It was a hybrid with an interview beginning of 3rd year of undergrad.

Met a family from Florida visiting relatives in Houston over July 4th. They had a kid with an admission from this program who applied out and got into Dartmouth.
Unsure where else they got in but headed to Dartmouth.

How to use private message funtioning?

You have to post an x number of posts before you could have access to the DM function. Meanwhile, if you want to contact someone, tag them and ask them to DM you.

Users can also set themselves not to receive them and even when one has enough posts, they wont be able to send DMs to such members.

@lathasai

I would strongly urge you to post your questions on the forums rather than in private messages. You will get a broader set of responses. Plus some posters do not prefer to answer questions via message.

@skieurope what is the guideline now for messaging?

The user who asked is able to initiate PM’s. As noted, if the recipient’s profile is set to private, they can’t be sent a PM (well, they can, but the explanation for how takes a bit of time and a user with a private profile most likely isn’t interested in unsolicited messages).

Other than science and math APs what are other APs recommended? AP CS vs AP world history?

AP CS is considered more STEM oriented.

Am unable to find an active thread for 2022-2023 results with stats and profiles posted like this forum has been doing in past . Has that practice been discontinued?

So if we have to had choose between the two … AP CS is recommended… correct?

Won’t make a difference for medical school. Beyond required classes no one cares about number of APs.
