Thread for people who have done their interview

what was it like ? how was the atmosphere

any ideas on these questions? kinda nervous

1) where to take them?
2) what to wear?
3) what to say?
4) what happens?
5) usual questons?

princeofnam, didn't you post saying you hadn't gotten your interview request a while ago? did you get it? bc i still haven't been contacted.

i just got mine

1) Had mine at Arabica Coffee Shop
2) I was told to wear jeans and a tee shirt, but i wore khakis and a button down
3) Be calm, funny, intelligent - know what you want your interviewer to tell the adcom - write up a short list beforehand and try to get as much of it done as you can
4) You discuss how you perform academically, socially, extracurriculars, interests etc....at least thats what mine was like
5) what you want to do, ECs, etc.

1) Had mine at the Alum's House
2) told not to dress up.. wore jeans, brown leather shoes, collared shirt
3) spoke about why i wanted to go to penn... answered questions i was asked... asked aobut what happens next
4) disucss whatever the alum is interested in
5) why penn? how do you keep busy? community?

Always smile

1) I just had mine yesterday at the Starbucks in Barnes and Noble
2) He said that we could wear casual. I wore a button down shirt, khakis and brown dress shoes
3) Uh, answer his questions but show some passion and genuine interest. Just be yourself and have fun.
4) He asks you some questions that you can elaborate on and you kinda just go with the flow.
5) Some of the questions he asked were kind of hard, like "if you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?", "what was your biggest disappointment", "if you were standing in front of Penn's admission committee, why should they accept you", etc.
