Thread to Finally Figure Out How Andover Mailed Out Their Acceptances!

We have all been wondering about the same thing all day...What happens to the people who havent heard from Andover today? Well there have been theories such as acceptances being mailed in batches, or all of acceptances being recieved today. It is impossible for me to figure out because I live 45 mins from the school and didnt recieve anything, but my friend who lives the same distance recieved a rejection letter. Another friends brother applying for a pg year living in our town recieved his acceptance package today. Lets try to find out whats going on!!

I say we storm there and ask them what’s the deal!? Even though many of us live hours away :p

haha everyone can just take a huge road trip and by the time we get there the letters will be gone :)

Alright guys, a CCmember in one of my threads posted that son received acceptance TODAY… and he lives in NYC… so this brings a little bit of more confusion into the discussion.

damn

Haha, it doesn’t matter for me now!!! But I am curious- did I get in four out of four? Or did Andover decide to be a party pooper? The letters certainly have been erratic!

okay well hmmm. Mabye they do different batches for different grades? Im applying for freshman and the kid in my town that was accepted was a pg so mabye they are different because there are so many fewer pgs?

I just can’t seem to understand how though…

if Andover REALLY did manage to notify all Accepted applicants TODAY…

How did they do it so accurately?

Don’t you guys think that it’s an amazing feat to have all accepted applicants be notified of their acceptances through a MAILING service such as FEDEX on the SAME day?

Like… think of all the states involved, Cali to Florida to NY… how could Andover know exactly when to mail packages out to such accepted students, and how would they be so sure that the packages would arrive to their destinations all on a single specific day (March 10)?

I dont know…

exactly! and i just read on another thread that a woman had 2 children applying to the same school for two separate grades and on m10 got an acceptance for one and nothing for the other but when they checked online they were both accepted!

My niece in SF and a friend’s son in NYC, both freshmen, got packages via Fedex today.

On the fedex thing, no, it would not be amazing. That’s a blip for Fedex, my business often Fedex’s thousands of packages per day and all get there overnight in the contiguous 48 states for one price.

Andover may well have done batches, I have no idea, but this would be nothing for Fedex to handle.

in response to AMAZINGNESSS…

the link you posted helps a LOT.

So basically this is what it appears to be…

ACCEPTANCE PACKAGES WILL/MAY BE RECEIVED ON EITHER MARCH 10th or MARCH 11th (based on last year and also based on logic).

So if you don’t hear from Andover tomorrow, it’s a definite rejection/waitlist.

and AMAZINGNESS, on that thread it said that people recieved acceptances on the 10th and 11th so we have hope! whoops i just repeated you haha sorry

BAsed on last year’s thread, ACCEPTANCE PACKAGES were received by FedEx on both March 10th and March 11th.

that makes a lot more sense since so few acceptances were heard from east coasters.

I will use this as an answer to get some sleep.

haha ExAnd,

we’re still in this game.

i’m going to be going crazy all day tomorrow…
good thing i’m on spring break.

Thank you to all the positive people =]

haha well youre lucky a didnt have school today but i do tomorow :frowning: oh well haha al my friends will be excited for me cause i am like the only kid from my town to get accepted to Exeter, nevertheless apply! and oh yeah fe/ex cant bring us down were all in this together! haha

dclaxer: Andover doesn’t have to figure out much. FedEx has guaranteed overnight delivery throughout the continental United States, regardless of origin or destination.

If you live in the United States, and did not get an acceptance from Andover, I am going to say that it is unlikely that you will receive one. Last year, Andover sent acceptances by FedEx, and rejections/waitlists by snail mail. I am sorry.

More info: Last year, the ONLY people on CC who found out about Andover on Monday March 10th were international, as Andover e-mailed those not in the US. There was NO ONE on CC who lived in the US who got an acceptance from Andover on the 10th. To get a FedEx on Monday, it would have to have been sent on Friday or Saturday. They were sent on Monday the 10th, and ALMOST all of them arrived on Tuesday the 11th.

Simple solution. Call FedEx and ask if anything is incoming… If you are nice they will not ask for tracking number…

I did that today to check for my phone, the guy was like “oh and you got somethin’ else from MA”

Brooklyn…I know your trying to help, but can you stop being a downer?

principalviola, did you get your acceptance today? If not, and you know its coming, then there is hope!
