i took the SAT subject test in October ,and got three 800s,is it enough for me to have the opportunity to compete for the admission of some top10 ,top20.......i don't how important it will be counted....compared to SAT or AP or AMC or...

still no one …give a hand ,please

… It’s sufficient. If you really want to do more though, try for some breadth with a lit/history/language

is it really hurt i don’t have the chance to take the AP

******baggg

^agree with the post above.

You are expected to have high SAT II scores if your are applying to top 10 colleges.
800-800-800 looks really good but I doubt it will count as much as AIME (or USAMO) or USAPHO and so on.

Good luck to you.

yes, it shows you can do the work. The next step is to show the top 10 what else you have to offer. Scores alone are never enough!

Dude, only 3 SAT subject tests? To be competitive at the Ivy League universities, you should have 800s in at least seven subject tests. There is a strong correlation between those who have perfect SAT in seven or more tests and admission - your admission chances seem to increase by about 5.3 times!

only 800s? you need at least a 900 to get in to anywhere respectable

I got an 800 in every possible subject test and I only got in to my local population college. It isn’t even as good as a community college.

In all seriousness: yes, those are good. But taking perhaps a single humanities or social science one with a high score would be great, if you can handle it.

I got an 800 in every possible subject test and I only got in to my local population college. It isn’t even as good as a community college.

How did that happen? Did you only do subject tests?

If anything, your SAT Subject Tests are rather undiverse and limited to the maths/sciences. You really ought to take a history SAT Subject Test or any other humanities based test.

…well.i am the international applicant…

Taking 7 subject tests is completely ridiculous and makes anyone seem like a test obsessed student who has nothing more important to do on the weekend.

dasdui and neuroscience1234 - You guys obviously didn’t get the sarcasm looooool. This thread is sad. It’s just people trolling and people getting trolled.

^No…not exactly lol. It is possible to get three 800s, in the OP’s defense, and if he really is international, he might not know everything about American standards.

But those 3 are pretty good. Don’t worry too much about them being undiverse that much, because if you’d taken one of each from humanities, science, and language, you would’ve been called a passionless breadth-over-depther.

Though it wouldn’t hurt to have one more 800 somewhere else just to show you can do more. And since you’re obviously strong in math, why not try the AMC? Although that’s in February, so don’t know about that…

I got the exactly same subjects with the exactly same scores as yours.
But I doubt the scores are influential enough to determine success especially for international applicants, since maths & science subjects in SAT II are nothing to most competitive international students, especially East Asians.
Pathetically, when I began to consider studying abroad, it already passed the AP test in my sophomore year (and worse, June SAT I application deadline)

looooool do you guys not have anything better to do than talk about 800s in 3 subject tests? this is so sad.

NOT DIVERSE ENOUGH GO TAKE 12 MORE SUBJECT TESTS

^^xD Seriously. Instead of overworrying over perfect scores ( Who worries about PERFECT scores? ) get good ECs and write good essays. This whole discussion is pretty pointless.
