Hi everyone, somehow I ended up getting 3 B's this semester(I'm a junior). My GPA was pretty low already because I did bad my Freshman year, about 3.76. I'm pretty sure I can get it up past 3.8 if I get all A's from now on. But I'm wondering, assuming I do everything else correctly (good SAT, extracurriculars, AMC, etc.) will it even matter, would I even have a decent change at any of the elite schools such as Cal Tech or Columbia? Or should I just give up on them?

Don't give up. If you have exceptional test scores and extracurricular activities, you still have a shot. You'll just have to compensate with your non-4.00 GPA (which many of the applicants to those schools will have) by demonstrating your commitments/interests out of school.
