Three courses while taking intro language as first-year?

I noticed that the introductory language courses meet six times a week and and are 6 credits. Plus two four-credit courses you’d be at fourteen total. Does anyone ever take just three courses while taking an intro language?

Not all introductory language courses are 6 credits (mine was 4 credits and met five times a week), but even with my 4 credit language course I only took three other courses (including a writing seminar). I personally don’t recommend that first semester students take many more than 15 credits, and in arts and sciences you’re capped at 18 credits as a first-year student anyway.

@hs2015mom , please refer to “good standing” definition. If I recall correctly, Cornell considers a student in “good standing” if and only if there are at least 12 credits taken each semester. This can mean 3 courses but all 3 better be 4 credits each. Do check this.
