Three Questions on Wash U ^^

As many people on this forum have posted already, WashU supposedly has a big Jewish Population just like many of the top 20 Universities, approximatley 25~30%. However, after thinking about it a bit more I wondered if the Olin Business School has a higher jewish population than the other majors and colleges, high up to the 40s because (with my extremely limited knowledge about Jewish students in the US) I thought that Jewish Students would be more interested in majoring in business than literature or art (I don’t intend to sound stereotypical).
Furthermore students in the Business School dont take classes on fridays. Although the people I have facebooked with and the theU.com video I saw mention that students take internships during fridays, I couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that friday is also the christian sunday of Judaism.

Adding on to the internship friday thing for Business Students, do internationals have the same and equal opportunities to get employed or get an internship in terms of government or employer labor or immigration laws?

Lastly, about WashU’s “marketing plan.” (I do not criticize it in anyway, I actually support WashU’s decision as it is a university that deserves much more recognition) Did WashU heavily advertise themselves in previous years as much as it has done recently? Because I was surprised by the textbook size curriculum information book, 200 pages or something my friend received after his online apps.

I love WashU!!!
Just my curiousity ^^

Friday is not the "Christian Sunday of Judiasm." The Jewish Sabbath starts on Friday night at sundown and goes through Saturday night at sundown. There would be no reason a Jewish student couldn't take a class or do an internship on Friday during the day.

You are sounding a little "stereotypical" as you suggest. In fact, NONE of the Jewish students I know at Wash U are majoring in business (although I'm sure many do). Why would you be asking your first question, anyway?

hehehe....sorry I know I sound stereotypical
because I know a former WashU student transferring back to Korea because of the ethnic divide and lack of internationals or asians...

I was just worried that the same thing would happen to me if there were such divides in the business school, thanks I now feel reassured, sorry momtotwo.....thanks for your post

Lack of internationals or Asians? Where on earth did your friend hide? I know many people here who are international students, Asian, or both! My parents even commented on the racial and ethnic diversity of WashU when they visited, and they were only here for a day!

disregarding question number 1, does anybody know the answers to question 2 and 3?
