How much could sending in three letters of recomendation (1 counselor, 2 teachers) harm me? I'd like to send in two teacher recommendtaions because I beleive that they showcase different sides of me, but, Maryland, given its stipulation that only one ought to be sent in, seems take an adamant stance against that idea. Is their "1 teacher reccomendation" rule evaluated that stringently? Responses from anyone knowledgeable about the school's admissions paradigms, or just anyone who can offer advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would imagine that the worst case scenerio is that they disregard the additional reccomendatinos. Additionals recs would never disqualify an otherwise qualified student…

^Thanks for the reply. Now that I think about it a bit more clearly, I guess it’s silly to suppose that a third rec. could be significantly detrimental. Their “1 Rec” mandate just makes me a little nervous. I think i’ll send in the third one anyways, though.

I was at an admissions session over the weekend. I had assumed that if you sent in multiple recommendations, they would just read one. But the Admissions person at our session indicated they they would read the addition recommendation.
