Three weeks in middle of summer gone, but need a job

So, I'll be in Europe from late June to the middlish endish of July. But I want a job so I can start buying things for myself instead of relying on my parents money, learn what's it's like to work in a real work setting, etc. But I'm unsure of which jobs I could apply to... with a recession and a kid who wants to get three weeks leave is not an ideal situation.

Possible jobs I could see myself working at to start things off would be your typical restaurant, basic stores (AKA Best Buy, Walmart, Target,) etc.

But what kind of jobs are realistic for me to obtain with this gap in the middle of my summer? Or do you think it wouldn't matter?

If you are looking for just a summer job while you will be leaving fr 3 months, forget it.

No reasonable employee is gonna invest the time and effort into you for 2 weeks, just to have you go on vacation and forget it all, to have to retrain you for maybe 3 weeks of viable work.

Chill with that negativity, apply for jobs now, and dont tell them your leaving untill 2 weeks before (after they train you). Say your Grandmother in Europe has a terminal illness. Anyone with a conscience couldnt get mad at you

I’m looking for the same thing since I will have like one month free until school. The one job I applied for, the person really liked my resume and she said she will consider hiring me although i will be gone for a month. However, she said that she didn’t want to hire me because she would have to find another person to take over my spot when I’m gone.

So yea, I think it’ll be really hard trying to get a job now. I’m just going to wait until I come back and then look for a part time job. Hopefully I will get one. I’m thinking about working part time at a clothing store, but I’ll see. You can always use craigslist, and i think that those places you mentioned might hire you parttime.
