Thurston Avenue Bridge to Reopen Thursday Evening August 16, 2007

The Thurston Avenue Bridge, linking North Campus with Central Campus, will reopen Thursday evening in time for Orientation Weekend, August 17-19. The bridge will remain open for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Those portions of East Avenue, University Avenue, and Forest Home that were closed for the project will reopen as well.

There are remaining tasks to complete this fall. Vehicular traffic may be reduced to one lane with flaggers and one of the pedestrian walkways may be closed during work hours.

The project end date is October 31, 2007.

This is a City of Ithaca project.

omgggg i cannot wait for it to end. its the suckiest detour when trying to get from collegetown to north.

Horrayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
No more detours!

you'll never appreciate that bridge until it's taken away from you :o

I just got back from Ithaca.

The bridge was open but it was obvious that more work needs to be done.

I cannot even imagine how difficult the traffic situation would have been during move-in day if that bridge had been closed.

i hear it's closing again to finish the details...
