I know at some places some frats, etc help people unload their car on move-in day. Do they do that here? Or do you to get any help if you didn't pay the $100 donation or whatever.

From the GW living/housing website:

“Volunteers with move-in carts will be available to assist all first year students with move-in and will be directing traffic and providing information throughout campus on the main move-in days. Volunteer assistance is available at no cost to you.”

I’ve been on campus (as a graduate student) for about a week, and I’ve seen people with “Move-In” shirts all over the place, and that was just for early move-in. It seems that you should have no problem getting help with moving your things.

Hope that helps!

My daughter just moved in today for a co-curricular, and there were some very nice volunteers that had a cart and helped her get everything up to her room in 2 trips. We didn’t have to do anything. However, I will caution you that last year when my other daughter moved in we didn’t see any volunteers and had a terrible time getting a cart. So come prepared, but if you are lucky you will have help!

Stop at Costco and buy the $22 folding handtruck. Best $22 I’ve ever spent.
