Hi everyone,

I am going to take SAT Math II and AP Calc BC in next year, and likely to take AP Phy B or C. Do I need a TI-84+ or a SE? What are their main pros and cons?

Thanks in advance.

The calculators are exactly the same–except the SE has more memory and is a bit faster–and costs more.

Pretty much, but more memory = more games.

The primary advantages to either TI calculator are 1) hugely widespread adoption and 2) completely idiot-proof operation. However, both are hugely overpriced. You can probably get a vastly more powerful HP calculator for about half the price.

The extra memory on the SE is useful if you write or download a lot of programs or if you work with very large lists. Otherwise, I don’t think it matters much. The speed difference may or may not be noticeable.

^^As well as apps that help me solve ridiculous systems of equations or make me not need to learn sig fig rules.

What?! You mean there actually was purpose of me to look at that manual thing? What app is that? I could so use that one…
