I'm studying for the SAT IIc and there is a question I don't know how to input involving limits. I've read the manual, but I still don't know how to input:
Lim x-->infinity (3x^2+4x-5)/(6x^2+3x+1)
I can input the equation in the Y editor easily, but I don't know the notation for the limit command.
(lim x-->infinity ...It says that there aren't enough arguments)
I have a ti-89, btw.
Thanks in advance to all replies.

type in "limit ((3x^2+4x-5)/(6x^2+3x+1),x, infinity sign)

type in "limit" not "lim" the "t" is next to the z
infinity sign diamond catalog

oh I was just using the catalog --> limit command...I think that should work too. But thanks for the reply. I can never get the syntax right. I can't wait until all my exams are over!

yup either the catalog or just typing "limit" works...:)

isn't the answer 3/6 = 1/2, unless im way off, but i think that is it, if you can't do that problem in your head you shouldn't even be taking IIC, just my opinion

psquared it is i think. I learned from a prep book and dont really remember how other than plugging in high values for X except where there is a case of simple exponents like this where the other numbers are overshadowed by exponents as X approaches inifinity.

I can do it by hand. But the point of having a ti-89 is to have the oppportunity to use it, or check answers if need be.

Still, don't waste your time inputting that kind of a problem.
