Hi, I recently applied to UCLA for Biz Econ and learned that I was rejected. I completed my entire lower div in 1 year with 2 B's and after this semetser I'll have 54 units and a 3.83 (My B's were in Calc 1 and Physics 6 (Non Calc based)). I plan on taking the SAT I, II and LSAT this semester.

Before being rejected from UCLA, I had intentions to join the USMC but had withdraw because I needed to be enrolled in a four year university for my program and I only applied to one school.

I have a lot of EC including working on multiple films under a director nominated for an Oscar and a few AFI Thesis Films. I volunteered with the local YMCA for the last 2 years before this one, 3 years at my local temple, won several awards from high school for broadcast news (I graduated June 2008), was involved in a statewide mock legislative and court and returned to help intern for the program, worked an apprenticeship with a designer, and now hold a job as a personal assistant to a top strategy consultant at Gerson Lehrman Group to be trained to become a consultant. I was involved in a forum for Green Business called ATHGO. I was selected for Regents at UCLA (Top 1.5% of applicants but then declined from the school).

This fall I plan on taking Calc 3, Linear Algebra, and a C++ Programming Class.

What can I do to make myself a realistic candidate for tier 1 schools for Econ or Business?

I was also a very poor student in high school and graduated with a 3.2 weighted GPA. I have an "interesting" history that I think I can write about but I want to know what else I can do to make myself really stand out.

Scores to shoot for on the SAT's... anything really. Not getting accepted at UCLA really threw a wrench in my plans and I want to spend this year off doing things that will make me a strong candidate for Tier 1 Schools.
