<p>Before going into my own business, I started my career at a huge IB firm. First of all, in the business world, Wharton's reputation (not Penn) is up there with HYP - as is MIT Sloan. That is just how we view it - not how we select our future employees because just going to those universities does not guarantee a future job with GS or any of the IB companies. </p>
<p>Second - if we are hiring summer interns or recent college graduates, your success in school, how you interview, what you did with your spare time etc., counts more than what school you came from, when you are dealing with students who all come from top programs.</p>
