<p>Silly question, but I'm honestly wondering. What source tells a person which tier their school is in the area that their going into?</p>

<p>I was using U.S. News/World Report, but I'm not sure if that's the best thing...or if there is something better.</p>

<p>It's subjective. It's different from people to people, even here on CC. Some consider top 30 to be the first tier, some consider top 10, and others top 5. As for the rankings, that's subjective as well.</p>
