Whaaa, I want to know, and they won’t tell me. Sheesh, grow up
My s16 received provisional acceptance in Mar or April of 2015. Submitted app 9/1/15 for class of 2020 , received acceptance for COE in late Nov. In same letter was award for OOS academic scholarship covering tuition. Still waiting to hear about Lyceum and Honors. Missed out of NSP.
Honors notification is supposed to be out this week on the 12th or 15th. Look for email for instructions later this week. Good luck. We’re waiting too.
Good Luck. The wait is stressful! I am holding on to hope. Thinking the marketing package we got last month was a good sign. Letters being mailed this week!!!
@Cheer2016 just curious, did someone from Clemson Admissions tell you letters were being mailed this week? I don’t want to get hopes up on getting something in the mail if they aren’t going to be mailed until after President’s Day… I hate being so nervous, and I’m not even the one applying to college!
If you applied by Dec 1 @mre1991 you will receive notification the week of Feb 15, if you applied after Dec 1, you won’t find out until March according to their website .
@carolinamom2boys that’s why I asked the question. I wasn’t really expecting anything to be mailed until next week (the week of Feb 15th, which is President’s Day). I thought maybe @Cheer2016 had some insider info that letters might be going out this week… Maybe I’m better off staying off of the interweb for the next week or so!
Waiting is hard. We’re waiting on Honors notification. My understanding is that is done via the portal .
I did talk to someone in admissions who said they “will be mailed this week”… But that could still mean they are posted this Friday /Saturday to be received after 2/15. We are on the countdown and high alert no matter when it shows up… Daughter will go to Penn State if she does not get in to Clemson. But I sure hope I am buying orange and purple balloons in several days!!
Did anyone notice the post on Twitter to Clemson Admissions? A student posted to the account 1 day ago with his Tigertown Bound envelope.
Thanks, @Cheer2016!
Totally agree ncmom1997 … Crazy long wait. Very disappointing to wait this long for a decision. My daughter is very anxious to hear and doesn’t want to make a final choice until she hears from Clemson.
I agree @ncmom1997 and @Karen015 about the wait but there are also a lot of schools who make you wait longer. We’re wanting to hear from Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, both of whom won’t notify until 4/1.
I understand the frustration with waiting, but Clemson is not a rolling admissions school. The only benefits to applying early are housing choice is based on admissions date and consideration for merit opportunities . The dates are clearly stated on their website. I guess if the wait is too long, the option is to cross a school of the list of potentials.
@carolinamom2boys thanks so much for your reply. We are going to wait it out, and totally understand the dates are clearly stated, still it’s difficult. Clemson is a great school and totally worth the wait and I’m hopeful for a positive outcome but it’s not a slam dunk for us so just a little anxious to hear either way.
@Karen015 . Believe me ,I totally understand your frustration. We have been waiting to hear about Honors and other scholarships before being able to make some decisions here as well. We are instate , and Clemson has become extremely competitive for admissions over the past several years. Even with high stats, Clemson is hardly a slam dunk for anyone these days. Many students at my son’s school are becoming painfully aware. These students are students that would’ve easily been admitted 4-5 years ago or are siblings to students who were admitted with lower stats just several years ago. Hopefully the wait will be over this weekend, and you will get the news you are hoping for. The competitive nature for admissions to public universities is astounding to me. Who knows what my son who is a Freshman in high school will be facing in 3 short years. At least, he’s experienced some of this with his brother so he won’t be totally blindsided. Good luck to your daughter. I know the not knowing is often harder to take than the undesirable outcome.
The admissions phone message now says if you applied by 2/1, decisions were put in the mail on 2/11.
@ncmom1997 2/1 or 12/1?? I applied on 12/31 and was wondering if I would be hearing soon. Also what number did you call for the admissions office?
Honors notifications are up. Good luck. Check your emails.
The admissions phone # is 864-656-2287, they said if your file was complete by 2/1, it is in the mail. If not, then you won’t hear until end of Feb.
