Time constraints? (CR)

I'm a sophomore and I've taken a practice test and I've realized that I've either been running out of time or finishing the CR section with literally 2 seconds left. How can I answer the questions quicker? I skim the passage but I don't retain much of it. Any strategies? I've tried Noritara's (sorry if i misspelled your name) guide to CR and it seemed to help me slightly but as much as I would've liked.

His/her strategy really works for the single reading passages but for me, it does not for the compare+contrast passages. I really have trouble with those the most.

I've been getting about 7-10 wrong for reading comprehension and another 8 wrong for vocabulary. Is that bad? I haven't studied at all for the vocab. Any tips would be wonderful :) thanks!!

I’ve never gotten lower than a 750 on CR, and I usually finish the CR sections around 10 minutes early. I read the passage very slowly, and thoroughly, and then go with my gut answer on every question, omitting nothing.

For the vocabulary you should not be getting 8 wrong unless you aren’t finding the trigger words within the sentence. Some words like “but” or “although” are very important and you need to find the logic that goes with these words in order to get the vocab. questions correct.
For the passage based questions I would advise you to just practice more. With more practice, you’ll be able to see the main idea’s more quickly and find rule out the wrong answers faster as well.

I had the same problem. After studying a little for the ACT, I finish all the sections with 10 minutes left…
