Hello Everyone,
I am currently attending a community college in New Mexico and about to graduate with my A.S. in Biology. My question is what are the "standards" or the norms of when to apply for a four year school. I would like to move to Texas and live there a year in order to gain in-residence tuition. Is that a bad idea? Do people do that? I am not worried about time being wasted because I have a good job I am just worried about what the admissions office will think of this?
Thank you!

The time lag is not a problem, some people transfer immediately, others have a break of one or more years for various reasons.

Moving and working to establish residency is OK, but be sure that you follow ALL requirements for establishing residency. There are often requirements based on age and whether or not you are claimed as a dependent on your parents taxes. You need to check TX specific requirements for establishing residency for tuition purposes.
