I have the planner, the blackberry, etc etc but I am still behind.

I don't know how to study and this is starting to show. Does anyone have tips on how to get focused in college, I think this is more than a time-management problem but I really need to get focused! Halfway through the semester!!!

Any suggestions?

Personally, finding a future goal way off in the distance motivates me. I have a picture of Brown University as my laptop background because I’d like to go to Alpert Medical School. Also, force yourself to go to the library - if you can go without a laptop, even better, because it’s less distraction. Leave the cell phone/ipod/laptop behind, and all you’ll have to do is study.

One book that may help is called “What Smart Students Know” and explains how to take notes, study different kinds of material, etc. There are lots of other books out there about college success. You can find material online as well. And don’t overlook the resources at your school; most colleges have a study skills center of some kind, that your tuition is already paying for.

get a huge calendar for your room. Write down all due dates. Get an assignment book, write down all homework. Or keep that info in each subject folder.

I will look into that book and all the other suggestions.

Thanks for your help!
