Time management

16 units, crew and I start my job this week. This equates to no free time (that's what I feel, at least) need tips to be more efficient, please :)

Just stop sleeping, that's wasted time! J/K :)

My best advice to you is to make use of all your time. If you've got 10 minutes in the middle of the day work on some homework instead of just spacing out for 10 minutes. Just make use of your time and you might actually create some free time for yourself.

Good Luck!

stop posting on CC =P

=P It's so informative.

Internet forums = the devil.

That's my best advice.

If you want a time budget, here it is:
If you spend 12 hours/day on productive time, you will have 4 hours/day free time. 20 hours/week goes to class time, 20 to working (?), that leaves you 44 hours for study and crew. At 2 hours study for each credit (32 hours), you will have 12 hours/week for crew. If crew takes more than 12 hours/week, then some of the time needs to come out of your 28 hours of "free" time.

I also believe that few students spend 2 hours study for each class hour. Depending on the class, you may be able to learn the material with much less study time. There is a technique to doing this. Come to class prepared. If the class follows a textbook, this is easy. Read ahead. Then you may not need to take notes in class because you will know if the material is covered in the textbook. Spend your time listening and learning, not taking a lot of notes which you will probably never study.

You probably have enough time in your schedule to signup for an additional course.

^ in theory

Good question to ask yourself - how did you DO IT ALL in high school - time management in college should not be that different in reality if you think about it.

Start every assignment the day its given. ...it lessens the anxiety....lessening the tendency to procrastinate. that's my secret. at least start it.
