Time to Make a College List!!!

I live in TX, but I agree UTA is a huge reach. Ninety-something percent of people were in the top 25% and I am now in the 26%ile now so I am screwed. Thanks for the info everyone you have been a great help!

Keep it coming if you want, I actually enjoy researching these.

If Colorado College felt like a good fit, then take a look at Bowdoin, Bates and Colby in Maine-they all have very strong outdooring programs in which a large part of the student body participates. If you like to ski, Middlebury in Vermont would also fit.

I’m not sure how an instate student with what equates (i think) to a 1490 on his SAT is a reach. The average for UT-Austin in 2008 was a 1225.

[SAT/ACT Scores | Why UT? | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/whyut/profile/scores/index.html)

I had a long night last night so perhaps I missing something here. I also mistyped on my earlier post. I meant to type UT-Austin (not OOS)
Does UT-Austin consider academic rigor to be that much more important than Test scores?

I know things have changed but when I was in high school several years back we had 10 kids out of around 140 or so go to UT-Austin. We may have had even more than 10, but I just know we at least had 10. I’m from Louisiana. Have they really clamped down that much on OOS state students in the last 10+ years? I’m not trying to highjack this thread, i’m just curious. Thanks.

I am from Texas, but trust me UTA is a huge reach for me. Ninety something percent of students were in the top quarter… I am not in the top quarter, simple as that.

I appreciate all the college recs you guys have given me, thanks!

I’m from Louisiana as well Benetode…but no one here went to UT-Austin. That could be due to the fact that my school was absolutely terrible and no one except for me applied anywhere OOS…haha
