Time to make decisions

applications are done, 2006 taxes done, profile and css are done. All other financial aid forms are done and tax returns sent.

So now you wait for acceptances. Then later the financial aid. these can come as late as mid-April (supposedly).

And then you have just a few weeks to compare offers, negotiate and send in a non-refundable deposit by May 1

Is there something we should be doing now and for the next 2 months (besides filling in a bunch of scholarship applications - state aid, private, local etc...)?

I know that I could get approved for a plus or home equity loan in a matter of days, my credit is excellent. But I want parental loans to be the avenue of last resort. I planned on paying my costs out of pocket (at least for the first year)
