Time to self-study SAT World History?

Hi CC,
I'm taking SAT World History on June 5. I get the PR book on April 30. Is that enough time to self-study it? I have a basic background in the subject (80% on the collegeboard.com practice questions), but not too much.
Thanks,

Well I’m starting tomorrow for June 5. Depends how much you are willing to study, and how much you already know.

what’s the curve like for this test?
how many can you get wrong to get 800?

I don’t recall the exact numbers at the moment, but the curve is very generous.

79 raw score is 800, according to PR.

Yes, in my BB for the subject tests its in that area. The test is out of 95, so it’s a very generous curve.

The curve ranges between 11 and 16 missed. I have AP World Exam May 5th, and I’m going to cram the SAT II like a few days before and I have Math I the same day.

Matt, do you think self studying the SAT II World History test is doable? I took AP Euro and have a solid understanding… but I’ll just be able to start studying tomorrow. This goes along with OP’s question. Thanks!

Yeah, especially since the SAT II is considered easier than the AP Test by a good margin. I’ve looked in my Barron’s SAT II book and the questions seem easier than in the AP Book, and still Barron’s gives the hardest questions. You’ll do well if you study Barron’s.

Approx how much time do you think I’ll have to put into this? I’m going for the 800… :/

As long as you feel you’ve done enough to get that 800. You should have some knowledge for each time period in each area, but I’m willing to guarantee that on this test, like almost any other, some of the questions will be common sense.
